OMG Emily..that is tooo funny..our German Shorthair,Abby, would totally LIVE on the couch..if I would let her.. but since she's an outside dog who only gets house privileges when she's not completely filthy from "being on the hunt"..she has to sneak on when I'm not looking..lol.
BTW, where do you and Kevin sit? :)

Rosemary, we do have a nicer couch and loveseat in the upstairs living room--the dogs stay on the first floor, which at least helps to contain the filth! (Unfortunately, the cats go wherever they please!) But, when we do feel like watching TV and lounging among the beasts, we just shove them over and plop down.
Victoria, thanks, the pictures are lithographs of a street in Chicago, one of my favorite cities in the world. Emily

Keera, ha ha! I was trying to come up with some cute LOL cat type captions, but yours is much better than anything I thought of! Emily

hahahah! Cute and funny pictures, Emily. And some people think cats and dogs can't live together... :-)

Just too cute! Do they sometimes give you a seat :)

Michele, our cats and dogs generally get along okay, but the picture of Kermit and Toonces is a bit deceptive--it wasn't a warm, fuzzy moment, it was more like Kermit wanted to stretch out, didn't even notice Toonces and pretty much shoved him into the back of the couch. Luckily, Toonces is so laid back and lazy that this didn't even wake him up and I was able to get a picture of them "cuddling."
Astrid, sometimes it does feel like the family room is "standing room only"! Emily
