Unfortunately, this is Toonces. He weighs about 20 pounds. Because of his, ahem, heft, we couldn't install a normal cat door--instead we had to use the small dog version. Still, we really believed we had bested our dogs. After all, Honey weighs 55 pounds, and Kermit weighs a whopping 78 pounds...no way they could fit through that tiny door, right?
Wrong! Kermit managed to stuff himself through and eat all of the cats' food. His belly must have been pretty full after his feast, because he got stuck trying to make his escape.
We did scold him for his misbehavior, but of course not until I had snapped a couple of photos of him wedged in the cat door.
In case you're keeping track, so far Kermit has gotten his head stuck in our fence not once but twice, and now he has managed to get stuck in the kitty door. I can't wait to find out what's next on his to-do list!
No worries, Kermit is no longer stuck, and he's completely fine. (Except for the stomachache from eating 4 bowls of cat food!)

hahahaHAH! Emily, that picture of Kermit stuck in the cat door is priceless! I'm still laughing out loud. That is one determined pooch. What are you going to do to keep him away from the cat food, though? :-)
BTW, Ian and I really like the tile you and Kevin put down outside the utility room. Really nice.
Hey Emily!
That is hilarious! Maybe it would have been best to use a regular cat door - it would have been a cruel weight loss plan for Tounces. A little too cruel maybe.
I am so sorry to hear about the house maintenance problems and I do hope your container arrives very soon.
We just tried the laser pointer with Freda - what fun! But now she is worried about where the "red spot" has gone.
Congress has passed laws preventinng law suits against gun makers - so Walmart willingly sells them - I guess the laser pointer manufactures don't have an equivalent to the NRA on their side! :)
(sorry some of these comments belong on your earlier posts!)
Michele, Kevin thinks that maybe we can keep the dogs out if he puts a bar a couple of inches down in the cat door opening--Toonces only needs the extra width, not the extra height! And thanks about the tiles, I agonized about the choice forever! It's definitely an improvement over the nasty, ratty carpet which was there before.
Trigve, ha ha, the tiny door would have been a great solution for Toonces! (Except I would probably be posting pictures of my fat cat stuck fast in the cat door instead!) I'm glad your Freda likes her laser pointer (and I'm glad you were able to get your hands on one, even without a powerful laser pointer lobby on your side!) Emily
That is pretty funny - in Norway, we would call Kermit (and Toonces) "matvrak".
