The good news: Kevin is back from Norway, and he'll get to stay in the U.S. for a whopping 3 weeks before leaving for his next trip.
The bad news: A couple of days ago, I stumbled and dropped and broke the very nice, very expensive digital camera Kevin got me for my birthday last July. I haven't told him yet, and am not looking forward to his reaction.
I think I need one of those digital cameras designed for children--Fisher Price or bust (literally) for me! Seriously, the cost of an item is inversely proportional to the length of time it takes for me to destroy said item. And Kevin wonders why my adorable, shiny red VW Bug sits in the garage all the time while I toodle around town in our old station wagon!

Oh, Em! I'm really sorry for you, and for your camera. But, jeez louise, accidents happen---they happen all the time---and it's not like you threw it at someone or anything like that. (You didn't, right?) I'm sure Kevin will understand, even if he has to be a little mad at first.
Are you sure it can't be repaired? Or is it really dead?
Michele, you're right, Kevin was totally fine about it. When I showed him the new camera I bought, he even asked why I didn't get the more expensive Elf! I told him that when I break this new camera in a couple of months, I'll look into the Elf.
(I did look into it being repaired by Casio, but because it was my fault because I dropped it, repair would have also been expensive, plus I would have been without a camera for 3 weeks while it was being fixed.)
Emily
Emily that does suck!!!! I'm glad you got a replacement though.
