This is a ridiculously cheap price for a cup of coffee even by American standards, but after a year of paying Norwegian prices, I almost drove off the road when I saw this sign! Can you imagine paying just 50 øre for a cup of coffee? I have no idea if it's particularly good coffe, but I will definitely have to give it a try. Hmm, I wonder if the diner serves crazy cheap pie too?

Flo's Diner - Wasn't that the name of a tv show from a long time ago?
Yes that is pretty damn cheap! You'll have to let us know what its like.
The part I love is the "Hunters Welcome" sign!
Welcome back, Emily!
Hi Emily! I'm so glad you've started a new blog. Really glad. I would miss your writing if you stopped.
Dude, I don't even know why Norway keeps making that 50 øre coin. ;-) Anyway, that's my kind of diner! Makes me miss America. :-) Let us know about the pie!
Victoria, maybe you're thinking of "Mel's Diner"--Flo was a waitress there. Wow, I know way too much about TV!
K, thanks! I'm afraid that the "Hunters Welcome" sign is pretty common in this area--the guy we bought our house from told us all about his bear hunting hobby. Yikes!
Michele, I haven't tried the pie yet--I keep getting sidetracked by that pesky Dunkin' Donuts on the way. Mmmm, glazed donuts and iced lattes...
Emily
Michele: I think pennies should be abolished before the 50 øre...they look exactly the same, so I always get the two mixed up!
I miss Dunkin's in California, it is such a Massachusetts staple. But I do love the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, even though 10 cents won't even buy you something to stir with there. :)
